When going into a classroom, you don’t know if anyone there has or might currently be experiencing sexual abuse. In fact, you likely have at least one survivor in your class. Statistics don’t lie: 1 in 3 women, 1 in 6 men, and 1 in 2 transgender people have experienced sexual abuse.
So, as educators, how can we ensure our classrooms feel safe for survivors, especially during triggering workshops?
